PHILADELPHIA, P.A.- On Saturday, the Drexel women's rowing team faced the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks head-to-head on the Schuylkill River.
The Dragons' Varsity 4 boats competed against the Mountain Hawks, who took an early length lead off the start. Drexel A and B battled back and forth down the course. Drexel B (7:25.59) put on a good sprint to close the gap between themselves and Lehigh (7:22.6), but it was not enough to clinch the win.
In the Varsity 8 race, the Dragons finished in first place (Drexel A, 6:32.0), second place (Drexel B, 6:40.61), and fourth place (Drexel C, 7:17.8). Drexel A and B began with a small lead over Lehigh (6:50.84) which expanded throughout the race. Drexel C had a strong start but fell off the pace in the second 500 meters.
