PHILADELPHIA - In search of their first victory of the season, the Drexel men's soccer team returns to Vidas Field on Wednesday evening as they host Bucknell to start a three-game homestand. The Dragons will be playing just their second home game of the season, following a 1-0 heartbreaker against Lafayette last weekend. Wednesday's game is slated to get underway at 7:00 p.m.
Drexel is 10-7-2 in its history against Bucknell, which is coming off a Patriot League championship in 2010. The Bison are 4-3-0 thus far this season, having won their last two games at Saint Joseph's and Monmouth. While Drexel has scored just one goal on the season so far, Bucknell boasts three players with at least two goals, including Mayowa Alli, who leads the Bison with five.
The Dragons are coming off a 0-0 tie at NJIT, which saw sophomore goalkeeper Pentti Pussinen match a career high with nine saves. Drexel controlled play on the offensive end after halftime, but couldn't finish off any of their scoring opportunities as the game finished in a deadlock.
