Women’s Swimming Breaks Four Records on Night Two of the #CAAChamps

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – On Thursday, day two of four from Christiansburg, Va., the Drexel women's swimming and diving team set four school records while moving from fifth place to fourth place at the 2017 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Senior Rachel Bernhardt took bronze in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.21, matching her own school record.
The relay of freshman Alexa Kutch, senior Aubrey Murray, senior Claudia Duguay and Bernhardt grabbed silver in the 200-yard freestyle relay behind a new school record of 1:32.91 to close out the evening.
Forsthoffer placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley as she touched the wall at 2:03.21, breaking her own school benchmark of 2:03.67. Freshman Alicia Diaz won the 'B' finals of the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.29.
In the 500-yard freestyle, junior Emily Joyce finished in fifth place at 4:58.20. Her morning prelims time of 4:54.84 broke the school record for Drexel, previously set by Katie McCann in 2008 at 4:56.28.

The four-day meet continues tomorrow morning with Friday prelims. On Friday and Saturday, prelims will take place at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.

Thursday – 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, Men's 1-meter, 200 free relay
Friday – 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, Women's 1-meter, 400 medley relay
Saturday – 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, Men's 3-meter, 400 free relay
