Drexel Crew Prepares for Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Philadelphia - Drexel Crew returns to the Schuylkill River on Saturday, Oct. 24 as the Dragons will participate in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. Drexel Director of Rowing Paul Savell will be sending eight entrants to the water to compete against some of the top competition in the area. It will be the first appearance for the Dragons on the Schuylkill since their big showing at the season-opening Navy Day Regatta.
Drexel opens competition at 11:40 a.m. with a pair of men's novice eights in action. The "A" squad will be taking the Joseph Greipp boat while the "B" team will race in the Class of '72 boat. Thirty minutes later women's novice eight boat, Anna Marie, will compete in event number 18. At 3:35 p.m. Drexel will have two entrants in the men's club eight race as "Vince Vidas" and "Peggy Greenawalt" will hold the "A" and "B" teams, respectively. The women's club eight competition will feature the "John Daskalakis" racing at 4:00 p.m. The final two boats to race will be the "Annette Pennoni" and the "Marlene Buckley" holding the men's and women's varsity eights, respectively. The boats are scheduled to race at approximately 4:30 p.m.
