Men's Crew Weathers Conditions at Head of Schuylkill Regatta

Philadelphia - Drexel Men's Crew completed the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta with its varsity eight boat taking 12th place. The Dragons had a pair of novice eight boats entered into competition with its top finish coming from the "Joseph Greipp" boat that recorded the seventh-best time. The Dragons also had the "VInce Vidas" and the "Peggy Greenawalt" in the men's club eight race with its the "Peggy Greenawalt" taking ninth and the "Vince Vidas" finishing 14th.

The "Annette Pennoni" finished 12th of the 16 boats entered in the men's open division as coxswain Randall Lee and stroke Filip Topalovic joined Jake Sloan (7), 6 Marty Khait (6), Chris Hillenbrand (5), Aleksandar Radovic (4), Greg Pierce (3), Anthony Fittipaldi (2) and bow Will Masters to finish with a time of 14:03.0.

The "Joseph Greipp" clocked a 14:39.9 as coxswain Justin Malley and stroke Paul Wisniowski rowed with Jason Browne (7), Tim Drake (6), Caanan Colwick (5), Kurt Linton (4), Kam Palagi (3), Zach Antunes (2) and bow Eric Szendrey to claim seventh of 29 boats. The "Class of '72" boat finished 15th in the same race with coxswain Matt Weston guided stroke Adam Cordi, Lorenzo Albana (7), Dillan Siegfried (6), Scott Nordsiek (5), John Kile (4), Rylan Treffinger (3), John Luciani (2), and bow Corey Barnes to a time of 15:47.4.

In the men's club eight, the "Peggy Greenawalt" recorded a time of 14:13.7 with coxswain Michelle Lehman along with stroke Mike Mabkhouti, Steve Dove (7), Andrew Burns (6), Tim Scattergood (5), Kevin Rorabaugh (4), Pete Eyrich (3), Brennan Hayden (2) and bow Pete Schmidt finished ninth. The "Vince Vidas" was coxed by Steve Matyas with stroke Liam O'Neill rowing with Gregg Francis (7), Mike Golden (6), Mike Gartland (5), Ness Del Valle (4), Pat McGann (3), Nick Buyse (2) and bow Kyle Fabel. The boat's time of 14:27.8 was good for 14th place.

Drexel Crew returns to the water on Nov. 14 and 15 for a pair of regattas on the Schuylkill as Saturday will feature the Frostbite Regatta and Sunday will feature the Bill Braxton Regatta.
