PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team scored two goals in the last 10 minutes of its conference match against Campbell to down the Camels, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon. The match was the home opener for Drexel, and also the first victory against Campbell in program history.
Campbell, who was picked fourth in the conference preseason poll, scored its first goal in the 27th minute. Adam Yousfi scored his second goal of the season from about 20 yards away.
The Dragons knotted the game back at one in the 41st minute. Carles Aliberch and Harrison Coron banded together and found the back of the net. Coron found the goalkeeper off his mark and was able to chip the ball over the keeper's head.
In the 61st minute, Yousfi scored once again but this time was on a free kick. The goal was the final goal that the Camels scored.
In the 82nd minute, Julian Jordheim headed a corner kick by Antonio Illuminato. The goal was the freshman's second of the year. In fact, Jordheim's goal was almost identical to his first goal of the season. His first goal, which was scored in the 84th minute against Lafayette, also came from a corner kick and also played a major role in the final result of the match.
