LEWISBURG, Pa. – Drexel scored twice early in the first quarter and never looked back, defeating Bucknell in a 3-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon in Lewisburg. At 6-3, DU looks to continue its hot streak, starting CAA play on Friday at Delaware.

BY THE NUMBERS

Drexel forced eight corners, scoring on three of them, coming from Puk Thewessen, Isabel Jacobs and Shannon Tringola.
Megan Hadfield led the defense with six saves in the contest and put together her first shutout of the season.
Taylor Mason earned two assists.
In blanking the Bison, DU shut out a team for the first time since April 18, 2021 at Towson.
The Dragons have not lost to the Bison since 1996.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the sixth minute, Thewessen deflected a shot from Mason on a penalty corner to score her first goal of the season to give Drexel a 1-0 lead.
Dragons gained another opportunity on a penalty corner in the 14th minute. Mason's shot was redirected by Jacobs who found the back of the cage to extend the lead to 2-0.
Tringola lifted the ball on a shot from Liz Chipman in the 35th minute, scoring her first goal of the season, putting DU ahead for good 3-0.
Drexel allowed seven shots in the fourth quarter but the defense held strong, not allowing the Bison to score.
