PHILADELPHIA, Pa - The Drexel women's rowing team posted a strong day on the Schuylkill in the annual Kelly Cup Regatta. The Dragon's second varsity eight boat led the way for Drexel, grabbing a first place victory by open water. Saturday's race was not only a competition between Philadelphia schools, but is a way for these neighboring schools to signify a row of unity.

The team led by coxswain Olivia Szabo, racing in Cara Fry, took an early lead against its four opponents and never looked back. The shell was clocked at 6:53.53, with the next closest opponent, Temple, passing the finish line at 6:56.26.

Drexel's varsity eight boat in shell Alleva XVII had a good day on the water as well, just missing a second place finish to Temple (6:57.2), clocked at 6:57.9.
