PHILADELPHIA, Pa - The Drexel women's rowing team secured two victories on Saturday in a dual race with the University of Pennsylvania. Despite opening the day with a second place finish in the Varsity 4+, the Dragons secured victories in the following two Varsity 8+ races.

The team of Natalie Cleri, Isabella D'Angelo, Julianna Hunt, Alexandra Natale, Kirby Droogan, Kylie Magee, Margarita Amihava, Giavanna Hunt and Hayley McKeever raced to a time of 6:48.5, outpacing Penn's boat (6:52.5).
Drexel's other victory came in the second Varsity 8+ race in the Cara Fry shell, finishing ahead of Penn's boat by roughly five seconds. The Dragons time of 6:56.8 moved past the Quakers second boat which was marked at 7:01.4.
The two boats, Marci and Diane Corle, that the Dragons entered in the varsity 4+ race finished just behind Penn's shell, clocked at 7:59.2 and 8:16.7 respectively, both putting up strong performances until the very end.
