Varsity 4 Highlights Women's Rowing's Sunday at Cooper Sprints

RESULTS
CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Drexel women's rowing team took first in the varsity four to highlight the Dragons' Sunday morning at the Cooper Sprints on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
In its first action of the spring, the varsity four raced to a winning time of 8:31.03, more than five seconds better than second-place Boston College, in the Diane Corle boat. Also making it into the grand finals, the varsity eight, racing in the Alleva XVII boat, took fifth overall with a time of 7:52.96. Navy took the race with a time of 7:42.22.
Drexel's second varsity eight, racing in the Cara Fry boat, won the petite final to finish sixth overall with a time of 7:53.92, 10 seconds ahead of UMass. The third varsity eight, in the Marlene Buckley II boat, and the second varsity four, in the Sandra Lee Sheller boat, each finished sixth in their respective finals.
The Dragons return to action Saturday on the Schuylkill River at the Murphy Cup Regatta.
