Women's Second Varsity Eight Wins Silver at 2012 CAA Championships

Occoquan, Va. – The Drexel women's crew team placed fourth overall at the 2012 CAA Championships held on Sunday. The women's second varsity eight boat won a silver medal, while the women's varsity eight crossed the finish line fifth and the women's varsity four seventh. Elizabeth Bratton and Julia Jackson were named to the All-CAA team. The award marks Bratton's second straight honor by the league.
The women's second varsity eight captured second place with a time of 7:06.8 behind Northeastern. The Huskies took first place with a time of 7:01.4. The Maria Papadakis boat consisted of coxswain Kerry Walsh, stroke Jackie Bender, Elizabeth Campanella, Juliana DeMarici, Mallory Sykes, Amanda O'Malley Alyssa Leahy, Asiya Mahmud and bow Colleen Delaney.
