Drexel Field Hockey Faces Sacred Heart on Friday

Philadelphia – Drexel Field Hockey gears up for two road games this weekend. The Dragons will face Sacred Heart on Friday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Yale University, followed by a match-up against No.4 Connecticut on Sunday. Drexel enters the contest 3-1 after falling to No.15 Duke, 2-0, on Sunday.
Drexel and Sacred Heart are tied, 1-1, in the all-time series. Last season, Drexel scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory against Sacred Heart. The Dragons outshot their visitors, 29-5, and were awarded 11 penalty corners to the Pioneers' eight. Ashley Santee scored two goals in the win.
Sacred Heart dropped to 1-3 overall after a 2-1 loss against Longwood on Saturday. The Pioneers' lone win was against St. Louis in the opening game of the season. Senior forward Chelsea Carlson and freshman midfielder Sarah Bergman lead the team in goals. Senior goalkeeper Kim Stow has made 20 stops for the Pioneers.
