Men's Varsity Eight Take Third in Third Final at San Diego Crew Classic

San Diego, Calif. - The Drexel men's varsity eight finished fifth in their preliminary heat before taking third in the third final at the 2009 San Diego Crew Classic. The Dragons finished ahead of USC and Washington State in the third final.
The Dragons nearly qualified for the petite final but were edged on the line by Loyola for fourth place. Loyola finished with a time 6:30.44 while the Dragons were recorded at 6:30.63. The Dragons cut significant time off of their qualifying time in the third final. Drexel was clocked at 6:21.62 to finish more than four seconds ahead of fourth-place USC.
Drexel returns to the water on April 10 for the Knecht Cup on the Schuylkill River.
