Women's Takes Second in CAA Championship and Lela Kerr Cup

Philadelphia - Drexel women's crew took second place to George Mason in both the CAA Women's Rowing Championship and the Lela H. Kerr Cup, awarded to the winner of the women's varsity eight race at the Kerr Cup. Drexel's novice eight boat took fourth in the 42nd Annual Kerr Cup Regatta.

The Dragons' varsity eight boat crossed the finish line at 7:08.45 to take second place behind George Mason's time of 7:05.42. Drexel was more than 16 seconds faster than third-place Delaware. The junior varsity eight also completed the course behind only George Mason. The Dragons clocked a 7:24.33, more than nine seconds better than Delaware's third-place finisher. The women's novice eight to fourth with a time of 7:30.15.

Drexel finished the Kerr Cup Regatta with 32 points to come in second place in the CAA Championship competition. George Mason compiled 47 points as the Patriots swept the varsity eight, junior varsity eight and novice eight races.
