Men’s Rowing Secures Three Medals at Kerr Cup

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 25 Drexel men's rowing team secured three medals at the Kerr Cup in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon. Both the Men's 3rd Varsity 8+ 'A' and 2nd Varsity 4+ teams took home gold on the Schuylkill River. The 2V8+ boat also collected silver.
The 3V8+ 'A' boat of Derek Kaiser (Coxswain), Danilo Djokic (Stroke), Andrei Axintoi, Jakob Mauntel, Dearon Tufankjian, Illia Chykanov, Bartek Socha, Braeden Montgomery, and Milo Epstein (Bow) rowed Sheller II to a first place finish. The team crossed the line with a time of 6:44.40. Rivals La Salle followed 22 seconds behind the Dragons.
The 2V4+ boat, rowed by Gustavo Lezama (Coxswain), Logan Lyle (Stroke), Carter Lucas, Sam Duncan, and Sean Williams (Bow), captured the first gold of the day for Drexel. They crossed the line in Go Roe at 7:54.77, four seconds ahead of La Salle.
