Crawford Wins Lafayette Invitational While Helping Golf to Second Place Finish

Easton, Pa. – Drexel Golf completed the final round of the Lafayette Invitational today placing second out of 19 teams with a total team score of 604. The Dragons finished only seven team points behind Lehigh who shot a combined +21 on the tournament.
Freshman Christopher Crawford finished first place overall after shooting a 143 to go -1 for the Invitational. He placed first in par-3 scoring and third overall in par-4 scoring. Over the two rounds Crawford shot for par on 27 holes, the most of all participants. This marks his second tournament win of his freshman season, as well as his fourth top-five finish on the year.
Senior Benjamin Feld tied for 10th place, having shot a 76 and 73 over the two rounds for a total score of 149. James Braunsberg finished with a 154, while Andrew Lawson and Ben Hinge shot a 158 and a 161 respectively.
As a team, Drexel placed first in pars with 105 and fourth in birdies with 21. It also finished third in par-3 and par-4 scoring, as well as second in par-5 scoring.
The Dragons return to the links this Friday and Saturday, April 12 & 13, to compete in the Longwood/Manor Collegiate in Farmville, Virginia.
