Philadelphia - Drexel Field Hockey will close the regular season with visits from conference foes Towson and Delaware with the Tigers visiting Buckley Field on Friday at 7:00 p.m. while the duel with the rival Blue Hens is slated for Sunday at noon. With wins in their final two games, the Dragons would clinch at least a share of the Colonial Athletic Association regular season championship and the right to host the 2010 CAA Championships.
Drexel, looking to defend its 2009 CAA regular season title, will be once again led by its seniors. Christina Mastropaolo leads the CAA in goals per game and points per game in conference games. She has had nine goals and 20 points this season as she has helped Drexel to a 5-1 CAA mark thus far. Classmates Susan Ciufo and Kim Tunell have also been key to the Dragons' success as Tunell leads the team with nine assists this season while Ciufo has 10 goals and five assists in 2010.
Friday's game is designated as the Play for the Cure game with all proceeds from the special events scheduled to take place to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Prior to Sunday's game, Drexel's eight seniors will be honored as part of Senior Day festivities.
