Makenzee Shaffer joined Drexel Athletics in October of 2022. She is currently the Associate Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement.

In her role, Makenzee oversees in-game elements, such as the spirit teams, promotions and sponsor recognitions. She also assists with marketing efforts for all 18 varsity programs, with the emphasis on ticketed sports. In addition, she is an advisor for the DAC Pack and leads initiatives in enhancing student engagement.

Previously, she was the Associate Partnership Services Coordinator for Dragon Sports Properties. Shaffer served as the primary liaison between the Drexel athletics department and corporate sponsors. She was also responsible for identifying sponsorship assets and assisting the marketing team with sponsorship requirements during game days and special events.

Before coming to Drexel, Shaffer was an Athletic Operations Intern at Bucknell University. She aided the operations department in preparation of the upcoming sports season. Shaffer also assisted the external relations department with retaining season ticket holders and working on marketing activities, while also creating motion graphics for various events.

A graduate of Drexel University, the Hershey, Pa. native earned her degree in entertainment and arts management with a concentration in sports entertainment and a minor in business administration and dance in 2022. During her time at Drexel, Shaffer was a game day intern for the Lancaster Barnstormers in 2021. There, she completed tasks such as planning and organization of a Disney themed night game and creating pregame videos used throughout the season.
