Drexel Shuts out Rider, 5-0

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel won its second home game of the season on Friday afternoon, defeating Rider 5-0 at Buckley Field. With the win, the Dragons improved to 3-2 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Pili Lemoine opened the scoring late in the first quarter to give Drexel the early edge. In the second, Lily Haag extended the lead off an assist from Lemoine. Anna Castaldo made it 3-0 midway through the third on a setup from Valentine Van Hellemont.
The Dragons capped the win with a pair of fourth-quarter goals as Lemoine struck again before Maya Williams closed the scoring in the final minutes, with Van Hellemont recording her second assist of the day.
BY THE NUMBERS
Lemoine scored twice, her first two goals of the season.
Haag, Castaldo, and Williams each added their first goals of the year.
Van Hellemont tallied two assists.
Drexel outshot Rider 26-4, including a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Goalkeepers Halle Geiger and Alana Poole combined for a three-save shutout.
