Drexel Plays Penn to 0-0 Draw

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's soccer team played University City rival Penn to a 0-0 draw Thursday night in Philadelphia. This is the first time in program history the Dragons have ended back-to-back games in scoreless draws. Sammy Widnick collected her third consecutive shutout as Drexel moves to 1-0-4 on the season.
The Dragons lone save came early in the second half. Kylie Emanuel's shot into the box bounced off the Drexel defenders before Julia Hahn was able to kick it away for the team save.
Drexel had a great opportunity in the closing minutes. Hahn received the pass in open space inside 18 meters, but her shot managed to soar over the crossbar. The Dragons held the Quakers to just five shots with two on net. Elise Duffy lead Drexel with two shots on goal
DU returns to Vidas Field to host Seton Hall on Sunday, August 31st. Action is set for 1 p.m.
