TEANECK, N.J. – Dominick Bachstein pieced together his second multi-goal match of the season and helped Drexel post its third straight clean sheet after defeating FDU, 2-0, on Tuesday night in Teaneck, N.J.
It is the first time since 2012 that the Dragons have pieced together three straight clean sheets. Drexel's backline against FDU only allowed one shot on target, which was saved by Raphael Bartell.
Drexel found a way to pepper the Knight's defensive line with shots, striking seven towards the target. Four were on target.
After a scoreless first half, Drexel took the lead in the 62 minute. A ball played back to the Knights' goalkeeper was pressured by Dominick Bachstein. The forward challenged the ball as it approached the goalkeeper and managed to tap the ball past the keeper and give Drexel the edge.
Bachstein scored his second goal of the night four minutes later in the 66th minute. The senior took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper and tapped in the shot to complete his second multi-goal game of the season. Bachstein's second goal was the fifth of the season and more than doubles his season-high of two.
Drexel travels to North Carolina to face UNCW on Saturday, September 21. Action from Wilmington is set for 2 p.m.
