Dragons Conclude CAA Golf Championships in Second Place

Final Results
BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Drexel golf team had its best finish ever in the CAA Championships, placing second at this year's three-day event on the par-72, 6,787-yard Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club.
Angelo Giantsopoulos shot an eight-under-par 208 to set a new Drexel postseason record. The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team and tied for second overall on the leaderboard. Jeffrey Cunningham finished fifth overall with a three-under-par 213. Cunningham was also named to the All-Tournament Team. Liam Hart was Drexel's third top-finisher. Hart shot one-under-par 215 to tie for seventh overall. Alex Butler finished 19th overall after shooting a 223 in the tournament and Connor Schmidt tied for 25th after firing a 228.
The Dragons as a team set a program record for the best CAA finish after posting a seven-under-par 857 in the three-day event.
The College of Charleston won the three-day event by shooting 30-under 834, the lowest three-day total in CAA history. The Cougars' score of 834 was 23 strokes better than runner-up Drexel. James Madison was third at 857 and William & Mary finished fourth at 878. Elon was fifth at 881, Delaware was sixth at 893, Towson was seventh at 906 and Hofstra finished eighth.
