Golf Finishes Strong at Temple Invitational

Philadelphia - The Drexel golf team finished strong on Sunday to place fourth at the Temple Invitational. The Dragons shot a nine-over-par 289 as a team on Sunday, the second-best total of any team in the final round, at the par-70 Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
The Dragons has a tough Saturday, finishing the opening round with a 306, but the team shook off that performance to have one of its best rounds of the fall. Chris Crawford continued to lead the way. The junior shot a one-over-par 71 in the final round and completed the tournament at three-over par, good for third place. It was his third straight finish in the top five. Freshman Avery Schneider also shot a 71, tying Crawford for the Dragons best round of the day. Fellow freshman Adam Mistretta had a 73 in both rounds tying him for fifth place in the Invitational. Yoseph Dance rebounded from a tough opening round to shoot 74 on Sunday, while Andrew Feldman had a 76.
Temple won the tournament with a 572, 18 shots better than the University of Hartford. Rhode Island was third at 593 with the Dragons just two shots behind. Drexel earned fourth place shooting one shot better than Penn in the 13-team tournament.
