Men's Tennis Tops Taylor University In Florida For Sixth Straight Win

Orlando, Fla. - Drexel men's tennis availed itself of a Spring Break match against NAIA Taylor University to pick up its sixth straight team victory. The Dragons (8-5) swept their three doubles matches en route to a 6-3 victory over the Trojans.Omar Laalej, Carlo Pangilinan and Sabayaschi Bose won both their singles and doubles match in the win.
Senior Omar Laalej bested Felipe Bedon at first singles to get things started. Pangilinan came back against Jorge Burmicky after winning the first set 6-4, he dropped set two 3-6 but pulled out a 10-7 superset tiebreaker for the victory at second singles. Bose topped David Smith 6-1, 7-5 at third singles to give the team its third point in singles play.
On the doubles side, Laalej and partner Jason Savage-Pollock won 8-3 over Bedan and Greg Branda. Joe Koebele and Pangilinan topped Burmicky and Jack Reed 8-4 at second doubles. And Drexel's third doubles pairing of Bose and Jarrod Popovice put away Brown and Bryce Perkins 8-2.
The Dragons are back in action at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28 against CAA rival Delaware in Orlando, Fla.
