Daskalakis Athletic Center
The John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center houses the Drexel basketball programs as well as Drexel's intramural and intercollegiate athletic programs. Opened in February of 1975, the "DAC" was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm of Thalheimer and Weitz. The two-story, four-level structure covers a three-acre area on the north side of Market Street between 33rd and 34th streets in the University City section of Philadelphia.
The facility includes a collegiate-sized, six-lane swimming pool and a separate three-board diving well on the lower level. The athletic offices, locker rooms and athletic training room are located on the ground level.
The DAC is attached to a 240,000 sp ft health & recreational complex. This complex promotes and encourages personal fitness and lifelong health to all Drexel University faculty, staff and students.
