Dragon of the Week: Poole and Haberstumpf

PHILADELPHIA – Alana Poole and Jake Haberstumpf named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of September 23rd–29th.
Alana Poole, a member of the field hockey team, made her first two starts of the season and backstopped Drexel to victories over Maine and Hofstra. The redshirt sophomore totaled 12 saves on the weekend. She recorded four saves in a 2-1 win against Maine and posted a season-high eight stops in a 2-1 CAA-opening victory at Hofstra. The Glen Mills, Pa. native was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week for her performance and now owns a .722 save percentage, a 1.45 goals-against average, and a 2-0 record this fall.
Jake Haberstumpf, a member of the men's golf team, finished third overall at the Temple Invitational, helping Drexel capture its third straight team title at the event. The junior shot 2-over par (212) across the three-day tournament, highlighted by a strong final round in which Drexel secured the victory on a fifth-score tiebreaker. The Bethlehem, Pa. native delivered his best finish of the season as the Dragons earned their first team victory of the fall.
