Golf Ousted by Longwood in Dragon Match Play Invitational

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. - The Drexel golf team fell to Longwood in the semifinals of the Dragon Match Play Invitational on Tuesday at Green Valley Country Club. The Lancers picked up wins in four of the five matches.
Drexel had its lone win come from sophomore John Keba. The Emmaus, Pa. native earned a 2&1 win by winning two of the final three holes against David Lafreniere. The Dragons dropped a few tight matches late as Longwood continued its undefeated spring. Justin LaRue defeated Drue Nicholas on the final hole and Griffin Mitchell was tied through 15 before losing 2&1 to Scott Jordan. Caleb Taylor was also in a tight match where he evened the score on the 16th hole before falling to his opponent. Kevin Lydon was defeated by a 3&2 count.
Drexel will be back in action early next week when it plays in the Mountaineer Invitatational in West Virginia.
