Men's Tennis Draws Monmouth in CAA tournament

ELON, N.C. – The Drexel men's tennis team has earned the No. 6 seed and will head to Elon, North Carolina for the upcoming Coastal Athletic Association Championship, beginning Friday, April 25. The Dragons are set to face No. 3 seed Monmouth in the quarterfinals at 2:00 p.m.
Drexel finished the regular season with a 10-7 overall record and a 2-4 record in conference play. The Dragons had five players reaching double-digit singles victories. Will Burridge led the way with 17 wins, followed by Roman Lafond with 14. Egor Kirakosov added 12, while Alex De Sousa and Hussein El Tawil each tallied 11 and 10 singles wins, respectively. Josue Guzman also had a steady campaign with nine total wins. The Dragons' depth across the lineup proved to be a major strength all season.
In doubles, Will Burridge and Hussein El Tawil finished with a team-best 12 victories as a pair. Alex De Sousa and Roman Lafond followed with 10 wins, while Josue Guzman and Antonio Leon earned 6 wins as a duo.
ABOUT MONMOUTH
Monmouth enters the CAA Tournament with an 18-3 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play. The two teams last met in the regular season finale on April 19, where the Hawks earned a 5-2 win over Drexel in Philadelphia.
