Men’s Rowing Finishes Day One at Redwood Shores Invitational

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The Drexel men's rowing team completed day one of the Redwood Shores Invitational Friday afternoon in California. The Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ both fell behind the boats of Stanford.
The Varsity 8+ team of Luke Joseph (Coxswain), Illia Chykanov (Stroke), Zoran Bosnic, Matthew Kennedy, Bartek Socha, Ben Werber, Kyle Brown, John Little and Andrew Manns (Bow) crossed the line with a time of 5:52.9. The Cardinals came home at 5:35.1.
The Second Varsity 8+ boat, lead by Derek Kaiser (Coxswain), Nemanja Sajatovic (Stroke), Willem Kirsch, Jakob Mauntel, Nick Foley, Zach Key, Gavin Roe, Collin Gross and Aidan Ionescu (Bow) clocked in at 6:01.6. Stanford finished in first at 5:43.5.
The Dragons will continue with four more races tomorrow. The Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ battle boats from Cal and UC San Diego.
