Dragons Draw with NJIT, 1-1

Philadelphia, PA – Tiago Lima-Bittencourt's first half goal helped the Dragons play the NJIT Highlanders to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night at Vidas Field.
The Highlanders struck first in the 17th minute of the game. Junee Lee managed to break open the scoring on a header right in front of the goal.
The Dragons fought back, putting consistent pressure on NJIT. They had six shots on goal and took two more corner kicks than the Highlanders, totaling eight throughout the night. In the 28th minute, Drexel's persistence paid off. Leon Park took a shot on goal, which was saved by the NJIT keeper. Lima-Bittencourt gathered the deflection tapped it in to even the match at one.
The second half was a tense back and forth battle for possession. In the final moments of second half, Lima-Bittencourt took a shot but it was blocked on its way to the net. The Highlander goalie cleared the ball to end the match in a draw.
Drexel returns to action on Saturday, October 18 at 1 p.m. The Dragons travel to Boston to face Northeastern in a pivotal conference matchup. The match can be seen on FloCollege.
