Women's Squash Challenges No. 1 Harvard

PHILADELPHIA – Continuing to give the top teams in the nation a battle, the No. 7 Drexel University women's squash team took its first ever matches against No. 1 Harvard before the Crimson came away with a 7-2 victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Lydia Robinson got the Dragons on the board at number eight with an 8-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7 victory against Brecon Welch.
The majority of the matches in the first rotation were competitive as in addition to Robinson's win, Drexel took a game in each of the first four contests. One of the more exciting finishes was Sanya Vats in the fifth spot who battled from behind in the fourth game to force extra points, before falling 12-10.
In the second rotation, Dina Rosli came away with a 3-0 win at number seven, downing Amira Singh 11-8, 13-11, 11-8. The final match of the day was in the sixth spot where Brooke Herring and Charlotte Orcutt battled for more than 45 minutes before Orcutt came away with a decisive fifth game, 13-11.
The Dragons are in action next on Saturday, January 22 when they host Virginia. Opening serve from the Kline & Specter Squash Center is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
