DeSanto started off strong at 133 with a win-by-fall over Appalachian State's Codi Russell. He followed with a technical fall over Northwestern's Anthony Rubinetti to advance to the semifinals. The rookie moved on to the finals after receiving a medical forfeit from Corey Keener of Penn State, where he won by major decision over Eastern Michigan's Noah Gonser to clinch the first tournament-title of his young career.
At 165, Jarrell also started the tournament off with a pin, taking down Franklin & Marshall's Dylan Gumaer near the end of the first period.
