Tennis Signs Ghita Benhadi and Youssef Lahlou to NLIs

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Tennis has announced the signing of men's player Youssef Lahlou and women's player Ghati Benhadi to National Letters of Intent as part of its freshmen class. Lahlou and Benhadi will join early signee Alex Zenonos.
Lahlou will make his way to University City via Casablanca, Morocco. The 17-year-old is a three-time Moroccan champion with each title coming at a different age level – U10, U12 and U14. The fifth ranked U16 in Africa, he twice played on the Nike Junior our, once as a U12 in the Bahamas and once as a U14 in Miami. The Al Jabr High School product was the Arabic U14 runner-up in singles and the champion in doubles.
Benhadi, also from Morocco, will make her way to Drexel from the city of Fes. Ranked No. 1 in Morocco, the Lycée Paul Valéry product won the Moroccan U18 title and was a two-time winner of the U12 title. She has reached a career-high ITF ranking of 401, having been an ITF south central semifinalist in singles and winning one ITF doubles title. Benhadi competed for the Moroccan National Team at the Fed Cup.
Lahlou and Benhadi will join the Dragons beginning with the fall 2016 season.
