Drexel and Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bruiser Flint Part Ways

Philadelphia, Pa. – Drexel University and Head Men's Basketball Coach James "Bruiser" Flint have parted ways, effective immediately.
"I would like to thank Bruiser for his 15 years of service to Drexel University," Dr. Eric Zillmer, Drexel's director of athletics, said. "We appreciate all that he has done for the University and how his student-athletes have performed on the court and in the classroom."
Flint was named Drexel's head coach prior to the 2001-02 season. In his 15 years on Drexel's bench, Flint's teams compiled a 245-217 record. He took five teams to the National Invitation Tournament during his seasons in University City. Men's basketball consistently posted a 90+ percent graduation success rate and the program received the NCAA's prestigious Academic Performance Award four times under Flint.
The Dragons finished the 2015-16 season with a 6-25 record.
A national search for Flint's replacement will begin immediately. Drexel has retained Atlanta-based Parker Executive Search to assist in securing the Dragons' next head coach.
