COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Drexel student-athletes have been named National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American Athletes, as named by the NSCA and EAS Sports Nutrition. Melissa Chapman of women's soccer, Mitch de Snoo of men's lacrosse and Jocelyn Quaile of women's lacrosse were nominated by Drexel Director of Strength and Conditioning Michael Rankin and Strength and Conditioning Assistant John Sheffield and recognized by the NSCA last week.
Chapman was a First Team All-CAA selection and earned a spot on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team. It marked the third-straight season which ended with Chapman on the CAA's First Team. She is also a two-time NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection and a three-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award winner. A four-year starter on defense, Chapman is now eighth in Drexel Women's Soccer history for career goals scored.

De Snoo was named to the CAA All-Academic team following his senior season. A three-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award recipient, de Snoo had seven goals and an assist on the season. The midfielder appeared in all 15 games. He also picked up eight ground balls and caused one turnover.

Quaile helped lead the defensive unit for women's lacrosse, a group that held opponents to just 9.88 goals per game. Quaile was named to the Second Team All-CAA, her first-career All-CAA recognition. A two-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award recipient, she had a team-best 24 caused turnovers on the season, finishing the year fifth in the conference with 1.50 turnovers caused per game. She finished her career in the top-10 in Drexel history in that category. Quaile also scored her first collegiate goal in the Dragons' 9-5 win over Villanova on March 14.

The NSCA All-American Award is an elite group of student-athletes whose athletic accomplishments, in the opinion of the Strength and Conditioning staff, reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning. These athletes are also recognized for their academic and personal accomplishments and their integrity as student-athletes.
Through his or her own internal motivation, NSCA All-Americans find a way to balance strength training and conditioning with athletic responsibilities, academics, sleep, nutrition and social life. They also look within themselves for weakness, seek advice from coaches and professors, and are relentless in their pursuit of athletic and academic excellence.
A maximum of four student-athletes who meet these qualifications are nominated by Drexel in any given year for the honor of becoming an NSCA All-American through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
