Monday, Sept. 1, we played our last game against Shanghai Sharks. I was very excited to end our trip with a good experience, playing and competing against professional players that play for Yao Ming's team here in Shanghai. We knew that this was going to be the toughest game in our China Tour, but it would be a good challenge for us in order to find out our strengths and weaknesses before starting the season.
I personally enjoyed today's game; even though we ended up losing. The referees were tough, but overall it was a great experience for us to compete against bigger players and also taller players.
These games here in China were not about wining or loosing, but about establishing our team chemistry. As we are a very young team having 4 freshmen, it was important for them to play some games before the preseason to see the difference between high school basketball and college basketball.
Furthermore, it was a wonderful experience for me to be able to play with my new teammates. This trip was the perfect way for me to get to know my teammates both on and off the court. We had many opportunities on this trip for team bonding as well. Seeing the Great Wall of China, the Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, and the Financial Center of China are once in a life time opportunities. All the memories will stay with me forever.
We are now ready to go back to Philadelphia and work hard on and off the court to achieve our goals. I believe that we have the potential to win the CAA and go to the big dance this year!
