Women's Soccer Announces 2014 Schedule

Philadelphia, Pa. – A trip to upstate New York as well as an away match against Clemson highlight the Drexel women's soccer team's 2014 schedule. The Dragons, who went 7-10-1 last year, will open the season at neighboring Villanova on Friday, August 22.
Drexel will be on the road for the first four games of the year as they travel to Niagara and Buffalo following their match with Villanova and then head to Virginia to take on VCU on Sept. 5. The Dragons' home season opens on Sept. 7 as they host city rival Temple at Vidas Field for an afternoon match. Drexel will then make the trip to Clemson on Sept.11 before returning home for a six-game home stand.
The home stand kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 14 as the Dragons host Syracuse. Drexel will host George Washington on Sept. 19 under the lights and then Wagner for a day game on Sept. 21.
The home stand continues as the Dragons open Colonial Athletic Association play against College of Charleston on Friday, Sept. 26. Drexel will play five home and four road matches in CAA action this season. They will host UNCW on Sept. 28 and then close out the long home stand with a game against Delaware on Oct. 4.
The Dragons are set to visit first-year conference member Elon on Friday, Oct. 10 and two days later will meet William & Mary in an afternoon match on the road. Drexel then returns home for two more conference match-ups against James Madison and Towson before closing out the season with a two-game road trip. They will visit Hofstra on Oct. 24 before closing out the regular season at Northeastern the following Sunday.
The CAA Championship begins on November 2 as the third and fourth-seeded teams will host quarterfinal matches. The top two seeds will receive byes. The CAA Championship game will be played on November 9, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
