Singh Named Philadelphia Inquirer Men's At Large Academic All-Area Performer of the Year

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel men's squash senior Justin Singh was named the Philadelphia Inquirer Men's At-Large Academic All-Area Performer of the Year, highlighting a group of 10 student-athletes recognized for their work in competition and in the classroom this season.
Singh has led the Dragons in victories each of his three seasons competing for Drexel, competing at or near the top of the Dragons' ladder throughout his career. He had 13 wins during the 2013-14 season as Drexel climbed to No. 14 nationally. Individually, he had three wins in competition versus teams ranked in the top-eight nationally and he advanced to the championship match of the Malloy Division at the 2014 College Squash Association's individual championships. Singh finished the year ranked No. 39 in the nation. Singh is a finance major and sports a 3.83 grade point average as a senior.
Singh was joined on the Academic All-Area team by wrestler Kevin Matyas. On the women's side, squash junior Kiran Vasudevan and sophomore Kaitlyn Money earned spots on the Academic All-Area team. The teams were voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 collegiate institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
