Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Drexel women's soccer team fell to Colorado College on Friday night by a score of 3-0. The Dragons are now 3-4-1 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 5-3.

Colorado College scored early, with the Jessie Ayers scoring just a minute and forty seconds into the competition. The Tigers' Kaeli Vandersluis sent a cross in that got past Drexel's defense and allowed Ayers to put the ball in the net near the post. Megan Hammaker took a retaliatory shot just a minute later but it found the post.

The Dragons tried to get on the board again just after halftime as Melissa Chapman put up a shot in the 50th minute that went high. Colorado College came back to score again in the 66th minute on a goal by Sarah Schweiss from Tigers' goalie Kate Scheele. Schweiss chipped the ball over Drexel keeper Eve Badana off a free kick from Scheele.

Despite another attempt for Drexel by Shyanne Kimbrough, the Dragons were unable come up with a goal. The Tigers added another in the 86th minute from Carina Lauzon off an assist from Sarah Haizlip. With five minutes to go in the game, Drexel was unable to overcome the 3-0 deficit.

The Tigers outshot the Dragons 15-7. Badana had six saves in the losing effort, while Colorado College's Kate Scheele tallied two on the game.

The Dragons continue their Colorado road trip with a game at Air Force on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. eastern time. Following this, the team will return home to host La Salle on Thursday night, Sept. 26, as a part of Drexel's Welcome Back Week festivities.
