Wrestling Falls to No. 23 Penn, 37-0, to Close Out Regular Season

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Drexel wrestling squad fell to No. 23 Penn on Sunday afternoon, 37-0, at the Palestra. The Dragons finish out the regular season at 8-12 overall, while the Quakers improve to 10-3.
Freshman Jacob Goodwin took on No. 14 Mark Rappo but fell, 15-7. Penn's Jeff Canfora followed with a win over Jordan Hart at 133. Senior Frank Cimato put up a good fight at 141 against No. 9 C.J. Cobb, but ultimately was defeated, 4-1. Joshua Yurasits lost to Andrew Lenzi at 149, while Austin Sommer fell just short of a victory at 157 to Penn's Troy Hernandez, 3-2.
Casey Kent picked up a win for the Quakers over Connor Moran and Ian Korb followed with a victory over Kevin Matyas. The Quakers' Ian Korb also earned a win at 184 over Bryan Sternlieb. Junior Brandon Palik took on No. 9 Micah Burak with a valiant effort, but was defeated, 6-1. Jon Max Wright finished out the day for the Dragons with another noteworthy performance, but lost to Penn's Steven Graziano, 5-2.
This dual brings the regular season to a close for the Dragons. Drexel will send a number of top performers to compete at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships on March 9 in Boston, Massachusetts.
