
CLEAR Athletes of the Week: Goncalves and Moss

Philadelphia – Matheus Goncalves (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham/Worcester Academy/ FC Greater Boston Bolts) of men's soccer and Civanni Moss (Appleton, Wisc./Shattuck-St. Mary's) of women's soccer have been named CLEAR Athletes of the Week from Monday, September 4 through September 9 by Drexel Athletics.
Sophomore Matheus Goncalves scored his first two collegiate goals to give Drexel a 2-1 victory over Air Force on Sunday, the Dragons' first win of the season. Goncalves was perfect on two shots, scoring in the 50th minute to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead, and then pounding home a score from eight yards out in the 102nd minute to give Drexel the 2-1 victory. He became the seventh different goal scorer for the Dragons this season, and the first with multiple goals. The men's soccer team is now 1-1-1 on the season.
Freshman Civanni Moss scored a pair of goals, including the tying goal with 11.7 seconds left in regulation, to help the Dragons tie the University of Hawai'i, 3-3, at Waipiu Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Moss now has two goals and four points with a .500 shooting percentage. The women's soccer team concluded their trip with an overall record of 4-1-1.
The Drexel men's soccer team hosts Lehigh on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Vidas Field. This marks the Dragons first home contest of the season. The women's soccer team welcomes Penn on Sunday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m. at home.
