Philadelphia - Drexel women's soccer players Eve Badana and Biz Matta have been named to the Colonial Athletic Association's Preseason All-Conference Team. The team was selected by a vote of the league's coaches.
Badana and Matta were both Second Team All-Conference selections a year ago and were key reasons why Drexel';s defense ranked third in the league in both goals against average and least goals allowed. Badana had a .82 goals against average and led the CAA in save percentage at .854. Matta was the team leader in the back and part of a defense which allowed only 20 goals in 19 games.
The Dragons open the 2012 season on Friday night at Longwood. They play their first three games on the road before opening their home schedule on August 27 against UMBC. Drexel was picked to finish seventh in the conference after just missing a playoff berth a year ago.
