PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's soccer team returned back University City for the preseason a few days ago. Women's soccer was the first of the Dragons' athletic teams to begin preseason for the 2012-13 academic year. Practice began on Friday.
The Dragons open their season on August 17 at Longwood, the first of three-straight road games to open their campaign. Drexel's first home match comes August 27 when the Dragons host UMBC. The Dragons are looking to build off a promising 2011 season, in which they went 6-8-5, including a 4-4-3 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play. Drexel will play seven home matches in 2012 after going unbeaten at Vidas Field in 2011, sporting a 5-0-3 mark.
