Philadelphia - Seniors Frank Tufano and Kyle Bergman have been named to the 2012 Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse team. The team was selected by the CAA's seven coaches.
Tufano, a First Team pick in each of the last two seasons at two different positions, was tabbed as the league's top long stick midfielder. Last year, Tufano played defense for Coach Voelker's club. The Hauppauge, N.Y. native was also named a Preseason Third Team All-America. Last year, Tufano led the Dragons in both ground balls and caused turnovers.
Bergman, a midfielder, was a Second Team All-CAA pick a year ago. The Toronto, Ontario native had 19 goals, 12 assists and 31 points last season. He was third on the team in each category. Bergman begins his final season in University City with 41 goals, 24 assists and 65 points.
Drexel begins the 2012 season on Feb. 18 against Virginia, the 2011 national champions, at Vidas Field in Philadelphia. The Dragons were picked to finish fifth in the CAA by the coaches, but are ranked 20th in the USILA Preseason Poll.
