Drexel's Badana to Play in Algarve Cup with Republic of Ireland National Team

Ireland – Drexel women's soccer goalie Eve Badana, a member of the Republic of Ireland Senior Women's National Team, will travel with the squad for the 19th Annual Algarve Cup. Twelve teams were invited to participate in this global tournament for women's soccer, named after the Algarve region of Portugal that hosts the action.
The Republic of Ireland was drawn into Group C and will face Hungary on Wednesday, February 29, Wales on Friday, March 2nd and Portugal on Monday, March 5th. Other teams in the tournament include the U.S.A., Japan, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Sweden, China and Iceland.
Badana, in her rookie year as a Dragon, was named to the Second Team All-CAA as well as the All-Rookie Team. In 17 games, Badana recorded 70 saves and three shutouts keeping her goals against average at 0.82 while she lead the CAA in save percentage and finishing the season ranked 25th nationally, 0.854.
