Philadelphia - Drexel's Damion Lee has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Week for the second straight time. The freshman has now been named the league's Rookie of the Week four times this season.
Lee, a guard, averaged 13 points, as Drexel won two games and improved its winning streak to 15 games. Lee shot .636 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc. He was also perfect in eight attempts from the line. The Baltimore, Md., native led Drexel with 18 points in its win at Cleveland State as part of Sears BracketBusters. Earlier in the week he had eight points and made a pair of three-pointers despite playing just 19 minutes due to an ankle injury.
Lee is second on the Dragons with 12.3 points per game and a big reason the team sits atop the Colonial Athletic Association standings at 14-2. He is shooting 46 percent from the field, 38 percent from long range and is making just under 79 percent of his free throws. For the second straight week, Lee shared the award this week with Jarvis Threatt of Delaware.
The Dragons are 23-5 on the season and have tied the school's Division I record with the 15 consecutive wins. They will attempt to break that mark and remain perfect at home when James Madison comes to the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Senior Night Wednesday at 7 p.m.
