Philadelphia – Drexel's Chris Fouch (New York, N.Y/Rice) will miss the opening of the 2011-12 season. Fouch, a junior, is recovering from off-season knee surgery. He is hoping to be back in time for the start of Colonial Athletic Association play.
Fouch, a 6-foot-2 guard, led the Dragons in scoring as a sophomore with 14.9 points per game and had 62 three-pointers. He was a Third-Team All-CAA performer a year ago and shot 71 percent from the free throw line. He played in all 31 games last season.
The Dragons return four starters from last year's team that finished 21-10. Drexel opens the 2011-12 season on Nov. 15 at Rider. The game will tip-off at 6 a.m. as part of ESPN's Tip-Off Marathon.
