Ashley Botelho Earns Second Team All-Region Honors

Philadelphia - Senior Ashley Botelho has been named NFCA All-Region Second Team as selected by the coaches in the Northeast region. Botelho finished her Drexel career as the school's all-time leader in hits, home runs, RBIs, total bases, batting average and slugging percentage while helping the team to one of its winningest four-year periods in its history.
Botelho led the Dragons and ranked fourth in the CAA with a .357 batting average. She also led the league with a .573 slugging percentage. She had a team-best 51 hits this season and became the program's all-time leader in hits when she recorded her 197th knock on May 7 at Hofstra. Botelho broke Kelli Griffith's ('93) records for hits and RBIs and became the first player in Drexel history to drive in 100 runs, finishing her career with 108 RBIs.
Botelho was also a First Team All-CAA selection this year, a First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District pick and a member of the CAA's 25th Anniversary Team. She will complete her collegiate career with a degree in business administration.
