
Men's Lax and UMass Battle for Playoff Positions Saturday on The Comcast Network

The Drexel men's lacrosse team,currently ranked 13th in the nation battles No. 9 UMass on Saturday afternoon in the regluar-season finale for both teams. Drexel and UMass have each clinched a playoff spot in the upcoming CAA Tournament but both could finish as high as the second seed and as low as the fourth spot. The game, which begins at 4 p.m. and can be seen live on The Comcast Network, is the first meeting between the two schools.
The Dragons are looking to get back on track after a pair of defeats. Drexel lost a one-goal decision to Towson two weeks ago and lost at Delaware last Saturday. Drexel is 9-4 (2-2 CAA) and enters the game with a 6-1 record at Vidas Field this season. Drexel will honor 11 seniors before the start of the contest. Colin Ambler, Andy Blahut, Bryan Brodzik, Adam Dennis, Zak Fisher, Beau Issleib, Nick Kusturiss, Andy Lamb, Matt McCormick, Dennis Murray and Ryan West will be making their final regular-season appearance at Vidas Field. Ambler leads the team in scoring with 37 points. Robert Church leads the club with 28 goals.
UMass is 8-4 and also 2-2 in league play after defeating No. 10 Georgetown last weekend, 13-12. That win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Minutemen. Will Manny leads a balanced scoring attack with 25 goals. Four UMass players have at least 19 goals. Tim McCormick starts in the cage and has a .527 save percentage to go along with a 9.68 goals against average.
