Maiden Named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week

Philadelphia - Drexel's Alyse Maiden was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Week after helping the Dragons split a pair of conference games on the road. The freshman scored four goals on the week, including three against George Mason in the Dragons' 10-5 victory over the Patriots. Maiden shares the honor with James Madison's Casey Ancarrow.
Maiden scored once in Drexel's defeat at the hands of No. 10 James Madison on Friday then reeled off three goals, all on free-position shots, in Drexel's win over George Mason that evened the team's conference record at 2-2 on the season. With just one second left in the first half, Maiden notched her second goal in what turned out to be the game-winner, the first in her young career. For the season, Maiden is currently fourth on the team with 14 goals and 17 points.
Maiden and the Dragons return to action on Friday, April 23 as Towson visits Vidas Field for a 4:00 p.m. game.
